Chronobiosis and Energetics/Metabolism of Aging Core (CEAC)
The CEAC offers intellectual expertise specific to the design, implementation and interpretation of studies targeting the understanding of energetics and metabolic consequences and mechanisms specific to aging. The CEAC offers intellectual expertise specific to the design, implementation and interpretation of studies targeting the understanding of energetics and metabolic consequences and mechanisms that are specific to aging. Using cutting-edge technologies, the CEAC provides leadership and personnel to advise or assist investigators in performing in vivo energetics/metabolism and chronobiosis assessments as detailed below. CEAC services, which enrich and extend the studies of these researchers, are made available to E-NSC, the mini-NSC, and other NSC members at a discounted fee, and to outside investigators at a standard rate. Finally, through this Core, we will continue to develop normative physiological/functional values for healthy lifespan, and establish a plasma and tissue chronobiosis resource, which will include a discovery panel database consisting of proteomic, transcriptomic and metabolomic data from isochronic and heterochronic pairs.
Proteostasis of Aging Core
The Proteostasis of Aging Core provides state-of-the-art methodology for the study of changes in cellular protein homeostasis in aging and age-related disorders. The core performs highly specialized assays for the analysis of autophagic pathways and the ubiquitin proteasome system and provides advice on experimental design, techniques, and data interpretation in that area.
