Clinical Research Center Core

A one-time, initial fee per protocol is charged regardless of whether subjects are ever enrolled in the protocol.  This fee includes expenses common to all protocols, i.e., the time spent by the Program Director, Executive Director and Administrative Director, Clinical Staff Director, Analytic Core Laboratory Administrator, Research Implementation Core Director, Research Informatics Core Director, and Biostatistician to review the application, plus additional administrative time to record protocol activity, account for use of facility resources, and process the annual progress report.

Per visit fee for the use of the CRC space, standard stock supplies, and/or CRC clinical staff utilization for research involving PK/PD studies, infusions, clamp studies, IV placement, indirect calorimetry, tracer kinetics, and high volume specimen processing.

Fee is per hospital day (per inpatient admission). This fee is based on the DHHS-negotiated research patient care rate for inpatient days at MMC. This rate only applies to CTSA-supported admissions.

Per visit fee for the use of the CRC space, standard stock supplies, and/or CISC clinical staff use for routine purposes, including phlebotomy, specimen collection, vital sign monitoring, EKGs, questionnaires, anthropometric measurements, and low volume specimen processing.  This fee does not include any overtime nursing costs, overtime Laboratory Technician costs, clinical supplies, and laboratory ancillary costs. Overtime nursing costs will be calculated at time-and-a-half for the nurse involved in the study, and will be added to the average hourly rate, if applicable. Overtime lab technician costs will be calculated at time-and-a-half for the technician involved in the study and will be added to the average hourly rate if applicable.
